1. Information We Collect

Spin for Din collects the following information to provide and improve our service:

• Email Address: Used for account authentication and password recovery. Your email is stored securely via our authentication provider (Supabase).
• User Preferences: Dietary preferences, food allergies, household size, cuisine preferences, and cooking settings. These are stored locally on your device and synced to our cloud service when you are signed in.
• Ingredient Data: Ingredients you add manually or via scanning. This data is stored locally and used to generate recipe suggestions.
• Recipe History: Your past recipe suggestions and favorites, stored locally and synced to the cloud.
• Family Group Data: If you create or join a family group, member names, dietary preferences, and allergies are stored to facilitate shared meal planning.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To generate personalized recipe suggestions based on your ingredients, dietary needs, and preferences.
• To authenticate your account and enable data sync across devices.
• To enforce allergy restrictions and dietary filters in recipe generation.
• To facilitate family group features and shared meal planning.
• To improve the quality and relevance of recipe suggestions.

3. Third-Party Services

Spin for Din uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase: For user authentication and cloud data storage. Supabase processes your email address and synced app data. See Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
• AI Language Models: When you generate recipes or scan your kitchen, your ingredient list and preferences are sent to AI services for processing. No personally identifiable information (such as your email or name) is included in these requests.
• USDA FoodData Central: For nutritional and ingredient reference data. No personal data is shared with this service.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Most of your app data (ingredients, preferences, history) is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms.
• Cloud Sync: When signed in, your profile, favorites, and history are synced to Supabase's secure cloud infrastructure.
• Encryption: All data transmitted between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

We do not store your password — authentication is handled securely by Supabase.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• You can delete all local app data at any time from the Profile tab using "Clear All Data."
• You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data from the Profile tab using "Delete Account." This action is irreversible and removes your email, profile, preferences, favorites, history, and family group data from our servers.
• If you simply uninstall the app, your local data is removed. Cloud data is retained until you delete your account.

6. Children's Privacy

Spin for Din is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The "Kids Menu" feature generates kid-friendly recipes for parents and guardians — it is not intended for direct use by children.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in the app and on our servers.
• Correct inaccurate personal data by editing your profile.
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time.
• Export your data by viewing it within the app.

If you are a resident of the European Union, you may have additional rights under GDPR. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

8. Cookies and Tracking

Spin for Din does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, or any tracking technologies. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not participate in ad networks or share data with advertisers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
